Today I stubbed my middle toe on the corner of my chair leg. Naturally, I collapsed in complete agonizing pain. But as I laid on the floor, actually crying aloud from such a tiny yet excruciating injury, I began to laugh. Not laughing joyously, but that strange cry laugh you do as a kid- coming in and out of crying and giggling. I felt real. It all seemed so “real” and so I began to cry a different cry. A sighing cry. So then I laid there just a few minutes longer to soak in the fact I had just experienced one of those magical Human moments.
